Something is Brewing…

441 Ministries, and their adjacent New City Cafe, is one of our favorite partnering organizations. Their work in the community fits into four target areas: Economic Development, Affordable Housing, Holistic Health, and Community Cultivation.

Our teams have been connecting behind the scenes to develop a special blend of coffee reflective of the diversity of our community and the mission to serve our neighbors.

We are excited to introduce you to the Neighborhood Blend! A specialty blend celebrating the diversity of the community we serve, this medium dark roast combines beans from Costa Rica and Mexico with notes of dark chocolate, graham cracker, raspberry and honey to create the perfect daily cup whether to enjoy on a quiet morning or pair with an engaging conversation.

$5 from every 12 oz. bag purchased will go directly to His Branches to be reinvested into patient care and assistance, one neighbor at a time. (3lb bags and 5lb bags ($15/$25 donated back to us per bag) are also now available and a perfect option for organizations and offices to enjoy). This is a great way for coffee lovers to support two ministries within our city at once!

HOW DO I GET IT!? Neighborhood Blend will be available for purchase online through our website with the option of direct shipping (great for our out-of-state friends!) or local pickup right at New City Cafe! You can also click the button below (don’t forget to bookmark the link) to start ordering TODAY!

Brake the Cycle

Children laughing, neighbors gathering, families riding, community serving. More than 40 bicycles were donated and raffled off at the annual Arnett Block Association Bike Clinic in our parking lot on Saturday, May 11th. Thanks to R Community Bikes, another 40+ were repaired and washed while Reconnect Rochester and EE Pathways shared resources and helped kids with riding and safety training.

Volunteers helped distribute bike locks and helmets to participants while Arnett Branch Library brought their traveling library cart for kids to enjoy free books.

One new highlight this year was the “Brake the Cycle” bike ride headed up by Ethan Thompson. He organized a ride for co-workers from Simplified Safety to bring awareness of our mission and aid to the communities we serve in the 19th Ward. Riders completed a 6.25 mile ride through the city ending at our clinic where they then volunteered washing bikes, passing out locks, and engaging with neighbors.

We loved seeing so many neighbors come out together to facilitate and encourage a more healthy, active lifestyle and give people access to transportation. Special thanks to all the partnering organizations who came out to support and make this day possible! We are truly better together.
