Swinging through Summer

A Hole in One!

From the beautiful venue, to fun and delicious themed holes, as well as the priceless connections that were made both on and off the golf course, our inaugural Fore Rochester Golf Tournament in July was a hole in one!

We had 80 golfers participate and numerous volunteers who helped us raise $15,000 toward providing access to medical and mental health care to our neighbors in Rochester.

A special THANKS! to all of our sponsors, donors, and volunteers who helped make this event a success for everyone involved!
We’re excited to tee off with each of you at next year’s event to be held on September 15, 2025 at Ravenwood Golf Club.

Community Connections

  1. Recently the Starbucks Foundation selected His Branches to receive a Neighborhood Grant by which we’ll be able to leverage their investment to support and expand programs to encourage a fun, safe, and healthy community around our clinic. Special shout out to the champions and award winners from the first flag football season at 19th Ward elementary schools!

2. We creating greater economic equity through our support of local artists in addition to sharing the value of creating and enjoying art as a part of overall wellness and mental health. Last month, we started a partnership with Urban League of Rochester to bring art by local creators into our office space.
Our first resident artist, Ralph Thompson, currently has paintings on display in our 19th Ward location. Each of the featured pieces are available for purchase through the QR codes on site.

3. We’ve launched our second Telehealth hub within a community based partner! This location is found at St. Peter’s Kitchen. St. Peter’s Kitchen provides nutritional support, necessary resources, and personal connection to people struggling with food insecurity in the west side of Rochester. Their team has worked hard to have a beautiful space set up for their patrons that provides dignity and privacy while being able to access medical and mental health care from their facility.

4. Summer was the perfect time for our first two students, Julia and Nate, to join us for a clinical rotation in their PA program at Cedarville University.

By the end of this primary care rotation, they were able to: identify social determinants contributing to lack of health, develop skills in interviewing patients, identify more than a dozen common diagnoses, and learned how to complete a spiritual health assessment. As a part of showing them a bigger picture of community health, they each joined us for community outreach at the Westside Farmer’s Market, learning more about, and connecting with, neighbors outside our office doors. We look forward to welcoming more Cedarville PA students in the future!

Coffee Designed with Neighbors in Mind

Our coffee has traveled more 2,000 miles! With orders coming in from places like Arizona, Tennessee, Florida, & Connecticut, we’re excited that supporters all over the country have been enjoying our custom blend. Since June, we’ve raised $320 for patient care through Neighborhood Blend sales. We thank each of you that sip your support for our neighborhood when you enjoy your daily dose of coffee from New City Cafe.

HOW DO I GET IT!? Neighborhood Blend is available for purchase online. Subscriptions and one-time orders are available in three sizes.

You can select shipping or local pickup right at New City Cafe. A portion of every bag purchased is directly donated to His Branches to be reinvested into patient care and assistance ($5 for 12oz, $15 for 3lbs, $25 for 5lbs).

You’ll be able to find the ordering link on the homepage of our website, but you can also click the button below, or visit the New City Cafe ‘shop’ page. This is a great way for coffee lovers to support two ministries within our city at once!
